General Aviation Preflight Crew Building #38 and restroom facility -

On March of 2002, DSM added a Pre-flight Crew Building adjacent to Building #40 and in-between Gates 11 and 12, which is used by T-Hangar leases for access into the GA area. The flight planning enclosure provides a small work area with computer access for preflight planning and a unisex restroom. Basically, it is on the southeast corner of the T-Hangar apron.

Elliott Aviation's NEW facility -

Since 1958, Elliott Aviation has been apart of the DSM operation as a FBO (Fixed Based Operator). On May 15, 2008, they had an open house for their new 62,476 sq. ft. building which includes three massive 16,000 sq. ft. hangars. The building, as evidence by the following pictures is one of the premier general aviation facilities in the Midwest.

“Both DSM and Elliott Aviation are making a bold statement in regard to lengths we are taking to provide a state-of-the-art general aviation facility for our joint customers,” says Rick Michalski, Vice President of Technical Services and General Manager for Elliott’s DSM operation. “With the initial impact of this building and its potential, I can see us possibly growing our business two-fold within a year.” The new lease signed with the Airport is a 40-year agreement.
