Traveling by yourself?
Cool. Kids ages five through eleven who are traveling alone
can get some special considerations. Also the airline people
need to know where you are going and who is picking you up.
Have your
parents check
it out
with the airlines.

First person says a town that begins with A, next person
a town that begins with B, etc. Another twist is to use states
or to guess what state or country the town is in.

First person makes up a sentence with an "A" word
in it. (Like, "The alligator went in the river".
) The next person has to use that "A" word in a
sentence with a "B" word and try to continue the
story. Like, "The alligator tried to sneak up on a bird."
The next person takes the "B" word and uses it in
a sentence with a "C" word, and tries to continue
the story.

Each person tries to find the letter "A" on a sign
or anyplace around you, in the airport or on the airplane.
Then you look for a "B" etc until you finish the
whole alphabet.

First person says an animal that begins with "A",

First person says a famous person (or a relative) whose name
begins with "A", next person says a person who begins
with "B", etc. You can decide if you want to use
first or last names or both.

Start with the letter "A" or randomly pick a letter.
Everyone names one thing in a category that begins with that
letter. Categories could include Animal, Food, Plants, First
Names, Cities, Countries or Objects. Keep going through the
alphabet, then choose another category.

First person names an animal, for example cat. The next person
has to name an animal that starts with the last letter of
the first animal, so here it would be something like tiger.
Then next person would say rhino and so on. You could also
do this with names of people or towns.

First person says a color and everyone else has to name something
that is that color. Then the next person gets to choose a
color.

A color is selected and then everyone tries to find five

One person looks around the airport
or airline cabin and finds something they think would be difficult
to find, then they say to the other person "I spy my
little eye on something that is _____". Fill in the blank
with the color of the object you are thinking of. For example
"I spy my little eye on something that is blue."
Now the other player looks around the car and starts naming
things that are blue until he gets the right thing then it
is his turn.

The night before your trip, think of a lot of different things
that you expect to see while traveling to the airport, in
the airport, in the airplane, and when you land. Then make
a list for each player with different things on each list.
When you start your trip, have each traveler select a list.
See who finds everything on the list first.

Someone thinks of something that
falls into one of four categories, Person, Place, Animal or
Thing. The other players ask yes or no questions to until
they figure out what the person has thought of.
